💚Exciting news for the kidney community!💚The IPRO ESRD Network Program has developed a groundbreaking tool for kidney transplant patients - the Kidney Transplant Compare App. This innovative app empowers patients and their families to compare transplant centers nationwide, helping them find the best fit for their unique needs.I worked behind the scenes on this project alongside other dedicated IPRO ESRD professionals, including Caroline Sanner, Assistant Director of Quality Improvement at IPRO ESRD. Caroline's expertise and commitment were instrumental in bringing this app to life, ensuring it addresses the real challenges kidney patients face. The app was designed with input from kidney patients who shared their experiences and the information they wished they had known before starting their transplant journey. It tackles common barriers such as medical ineligibility, lack of provider education, communication challenges with transplant centers, and patient uncertainty about pursuing a transplant. The app allows both providers and patients to access kidney transplant education and compare transplant centers based on location, medical selection criteria, and support services. This comprehensive tool puts patients in the driver's seat of their healthcare journey, offering crucial information for making informed decisions. To learn more about this game-changing app and how it can make a difference, tune in to the Quality Watch podcast, Episode 1: Kidney Transplant Compare. You can listen to Caroline share more here: https://lnkd.in/gVbNtkM2I encourage everyone in the kidney community to spread the word about this valuable resource. Whether you're considering a transplant or know someone who is, this app can provide invaluable support.Ready to explore the app? Visit transplantcompare.org to get started. Please share this to ensure this tool reaches those who need it most and continues to improve the transplant journey for kidney patients everywhere.#kidneytransplant #patientadvocacy #healthequity #kidneycommunity #iproesrd #transplantcare #empowerment

✨ Gratitude, Advocacy, and Victory ✨I am beyond grateful to Arthur L Hill (DPC, Patient Ambassador) for his unwavering dedication to ensuring Hoosiers access vital coverage. As a Dialysis Patient Citizens (DPC) Patient Ambassador for the state of Indiana, I’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible effort behind this achievement. Arthur, thank you for your impactful story and DPC Eastern Region Advocacy Director Elizabeth Lively for being the driving force behind SB 215.Last year, I joined DPC in Washington, D.C., speaking to lawmakers, and this May, I returned to Capitol Hill to continue urging for this crucial change. To those who represented Indiana: Our hard work under the "Restore in 24" initiative has paid off!!Thank you to Gov. Eric Holcomb for signing this bill into law. It is a monumental victory for dialysis patients under 65 in Indiana. This legislation opens doors for affordable Medigap insurance plans, providing life-changing relief for many who face the challenges of dialysis and kidney failure. SB 215 is not just a bill; it's a lifeline.I will continue to raise my voice and fight for health equity. This is just the beginning! Patient Advocacy: It's what I do and who I am!#patientadvocacy #healthequity #RestoreIn24 #DPC #Indiana #Medigap #dialysispatientcitizens #arthurhill #kidneydiesease
